Private High Schools in Greater Charleston
Private schools in the five counties that run through grade 12, from Charleston Catholic downtown to Christian schools in Putnam and Boone.
Funding note: Hope can pay high school tuition at a participating school and dual-credit college course costs.
Private high school choices are concentrated in Kanawha and Putnam. Charleston Catholic is the only Catholic high school; the rest are Christian schools that run from the early grades through 12. In Boone, Christian Faith Academy in Madison runs through grade 12, and in Clay County, Clay Christian Academy does too, though it was not on the Hope list we checked.
Hope's value in high school often extends past tuition to dual credit with WVSU or BridgeValley, AP fees and college-entrance exams.
Where they are: Putnam County (2), Boone, Lincoln & Clay Counties (2), Charleston (1), St. Albans, Nitro & Cross Lanes (1), Elk Valley & Upper Kanawha (1), South Charleston & Dunbar (1).
